It has been an exciting week around here….back to school, back to work and back to reality after a fabulous vacation! To add to the excitement our family has also adopted a new feline friend!
While we were in Orlando I received an email from my aunt who had noticed a poster at our vet. They had a five-year male black cat named Mac who was looking for a home. I emailed them for more info and the staff was excited to hear we were interested. You see, over twelve years ago we had adopted our dear, sweet Rosie from the same place. We loved the idea of continuing this tradition in her honour.
Mac came to live with us on Wednesday. He is one of the most personable cats I have ever met. He LOVES attention and he can’t even enough pats, snuggles or love! He has a great purr and shows his pleasure by kneading with his paws. He also sticks out his little pink tongue just a smidge when he is happy, both very reminiscent of my old boy Ed. He is a big, beautiful cat who has a very loud voice and tends to talk a lot. He loves Sarah and Nate and today I found him down in the basement sitting on the couch beside the kids and their friends, with the TV blaring and the kids loud as can be. Nothing fazes this easygoing guy. Mac is also an early riser. We hope this is just a product of the big changes in his life and that he learns to sleep in a little once he settles in. We have been gradually introducing him to Charlie and so far…so good. We hope our two boys will grow to be great buddies.
Mac has already generated a few nicknames around here…”Big Mac”, “Mac Attack”, “Mac in Black” “Mac and Cheese”, “Macaroni” and “the Mackster” to name a few. I think he is going to fit in really well! Welcome Mac, we are so happy you have found your forever home!
I'm so glad to hear that. I'm excited to meet the new Mac in our family.

Very good news Shauna, I love cats and what a joy it is to welcome a new member to the family. I wish you and your family many years of love and comanionship with Mac. I don't know what I'd do without my little man, Graham.
